









Aim
To provide a national certification in the instruction and administration of the Paddle Canada Introduction, Intermediate, and Advanced Lake Instructor courses. There are three levels of Instructor Trainers. Instructor Trainers are considered leaders in the Lake paddling community and have significant influence over the success and safety of the Lake Canoeing Program in Canada.
Prerequisites
Lake Canoe Instructor Intermediate Solo
Must have taught 2 Intermediate Skills Solo Courses in the last three years.

Program Overview
Candidates must mentor on at least 1 (one) Lake Instructor Courses Solo Intermediate.
Candidates must teach at least 50% of the time.
Candidates are to produce an Instructor Course outline for the mentoring Instructor Course.
Be recommended by the Instructor Trainer(s) that candidates are mentoring under.
Assessment
Instructor Trainers are expected to have mastered the Intermediate skills of the Lake Program.
They must demo the highest demo quality manoeuvres on the Intermediate Instructor Course.
They must seem comfortable and show the mastery in skill, knowledge, and safety for the course they are mentoring and teaching.
