Mission
PADDLE CANADA'S MISSION STATEMENT
To promote all forms of recreational paddling to Canadians of diverse abilities, culture or age, to advocate for a healthy natural environment, and to develop an appreciation for the canoe and the kayak in our Canadian heritage.

Safety
We promote and teach the safe use of canoes and kayaks.
Educational Programs
We train our instructors to certify people in the knowledge & skills of safe and enjoyable canoeing and kayaking.
Environmental Awareness
We help develop a love and respect for our natural resources.
Heritage
We nurture understanding of the place of the canoe and the kayak in our Canadian heritage.
NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY
No person shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in any educational program or activity available at Paddle Canada, on the basis of race, colour, sex, religion, creed, political belief, age, national origin, linguistic and language differences, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, height, weight, marital status, or disability.
The 10 Objectives of the Association are as follows:
- To
provide a forum for the Congress of Provincial and Territorial Associations;
- To
promote, foster and perpetuate canoeing and kayaking as an educational,
cultural, historic and constructive recreational experience;
- To
represent organized recreational canoeing and kayaking and the paddling public
on a national level and to represent their collective interests with
governments and other national organizations;
- To
promote the development of canoe and kayak touring and maintain relations with
international organizations having a similar objective;
- To
encourage the development and recognition of standards in recreational canoeing
and kayaking and to facilitate certification of leadership training and levels
of achievement in canoeing and kayaking;
- To
study all aspects of the canoe, kayak, canoeing and kayaking related
undertakings and to interpret and disseminate information, knowledge and
standards concerning development and regulations thereto;
- To
promote the safety of recreational canoeing and kayaking in Canada amongst
member and other organizations;
- To support
the concept of the stewardship of the land as well as to support and promote
strategies relevant to the welfare of the environment wherever such support is
requested from the provinces, territories and to develop cooperative networks
with kindred organizations in the field of environmental concerns;
- To
encourage training programs and conferences on national, provincial,
territorial and local levels for Instructors, leaders and other personnel;
- To
support efforts by provincial, territorial and federal interest groups to
ensure the protection and perpetuity of canoeing and kayaking as a unique
Canadian heritage.
