YOU ARE PADDLE CANADA...

Without our members, Paddle Canada simply wouldn't exist. We are a non-profit volunteer organization, financially supported by our membership and by our programs. How does it work? Currently Paddle Canada currently offers three different categories of membership, each is designed with particular member needs in mind.  JOIN TODAY!
  1. Individual Members

The sub-categories of Individual membership are determined by the Paddle Canada Board of Directors or Executive.

    a) Individual Member: Individual
The Individual Member category is designed for the general public to join (annually) the National Association and to receive the benefits of each category of same. Paddle Canada Individual Members have the right to attend all Board of Directors meetings as non-voting observers, with full right to discussion but shall have no voting status.

    b) Individual Member: Instructor
The Instructor Member category is designed for Paddle Canada Instructors to join (annually) the National Association and to receive the benefits of each category of same. Paddle Canada Instructor Members have the right to attend all Board of Directors meetings as non-voting observers, with full right to discussion but shall have no voting status.

  2. Regional Member Associations

Regional Member Associations shall consist of recognized provincial and/or territorial associations. Each Canadian province or territory has the right to make up to two recommendations for Regional Membership with Paddle Canada. Where the province or territory has two recognized Associations, one Regional Member is to represent canoeing; the other kayaking.

Where there is no recognized provincial and/or territorial association, or when the recognized provincial and/or territorial association fails to recommend after due notice, any other entity may apply as an Interim Regional Member Association. This Interim Regional Member Association must be approved by the Paddle Canada Board of Directors.

Regional and Interim Regional Member Associations have the right to attend all Board of Directors meetings as a non-voting observer, with full right to discussion but shall have no voting status.

  3. Affiliate Members

Affiliate Member Associations shall consist of those national level and other organizations who have an interest in canoeing and/or kayaking. Affiliate members have the right to attend all Board of Directors meetings as a non-voting observer, with full right to discussion but shall have no voting status. The Board may permit Affiliate Membership status to organizations with mutual interest. The organization must apply to the Board in writing. A two-thirds majority of the Board of Directors is required to appoint an affiliate. The affiliate status shall last for a period of three years following which a further application is required for continuance.

Affiliate Members have the right to attend all Board of Directors meetings as a non-voting observer, with full right to discussion but shall have no voting status.

Any of these yearly membership to Paddle Canada helps us to preserve Canada's heritage waterways & wilderness and to promote paddling safety and environmental ethics via the Paddle Canada canoe and kayak instructional programs.
