Job Information
Job Title: Canoe Instructor
Description: Duties:

•instruction and evaluation for Adult and Group Lessons at various skill levels and locations
•responsible for equipment inventory management, and as required, lesson planning, maintenance of equipment and facilities
Start Date: 5/1/2011
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Qualifications: Qualifications:

• excellent interpersonal skills: interact with students and the public in a professional manner, under all conditions
• river paddling experience
• current certification in Standard First Aid/CPR
• Paddle Alberta Tandem & Solo River Instructor certification (certification courses will be arranged - subsidies may be available)
• instruction/leadership experience with youth and adults in an outdoor setting
• valid drivers license; a clean driving record and light trailer towing experience would be an asset
• able to provide a current police record check
• low-impact tripping skills would be an asset
• experience with Voyageur canoes would be an asset
• Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross or Lifeguard certification would be an asset
• other certifications that would be an asset, include:
• Paddle Canada Canoe Tripping Instructor
• Paddle Canada Moving Water Instructor – Level I & II
• Swift Water Rescue
• Wilderness First Aid
• Class 4 Drivers License

Employment Terms:

Part-time and full-time positions are available, April to October. Daytime, evening and weekend courses available. Amount of hours depends on your availability.

Rate of pay to be based on experience/qualifications: starting at $14.00/hour
Salary Range: Starting at $14.00 per hour
