OUR MISSION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

Paddle Canada is a proud supporter of the 'Leave No Trace' program and its seven principles:
  • Plan ahead and prepare
  • Travel and camp on durable surfaces
  • Dispose of waste properly
  • Leave what you find
  • Minimize campfire impacts
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be considerate of other visitors
As avid paddlers and nature enthusiasts, Paddle Canada members also recognize that our navigable waterways are magnificent treasures and that, like all treasures, they need to be protected.

As part of our environment and heritage mandates, we truly believes that public input and advocacy is integral to strengthening the protection and the future of our beautiful and historic waterways.

As part of this advocacy process, Paddle Canada has launched its Threatened Waterways Designation initiative.  The purpose of this initiative is to draw attention to those Canadian waterways that are in most immediate need of our support.  Our goal is to assist and provide groups with the ability to use the Paddle Canada brand in their efforts to draw attention to a threatened waterway. Visit The Canadian Heritage River System Website for more info on Canadian waterways.
